Navigating the ever-changing Chinese regulatory system for medical device approval requires access to a network of domestic specialists, advisors, key opinion leaders and investment partners. CIC has established such a network that has been successful in financing clinical trials with leading Chinese doctors and hospitals. Those devices with the greatest chance of securing both the clinical trials and follow-up financing typically have a small portfolio of leading edge devices, at least one of which is already commercialised in the UK/Europe/USA. Investment can be at the product or HoldCo level either in China or UK/Europe with flexible licensing, manufacturing and distribution agreements open for negotiation.
